What this guide covers
Arusaama’s Device texts import screen accepts a text file you select. If you have the SaanSMSMMS companion app, you can select an exported text thread. This page explains that import route; it does not provide a companion-app download or promise access to messages stored in another app.
The expected text structure
The recognized conversation structure uses a timestamp, speaker label, and message text. For example, using invented content:
[2026-10-01 18:30:00] Alex: Would tomorrow evening work?
[2026-10-01 18:32:00] Sam: Yes, after six would be good.
Keep the exported file’s original text and order. Dates and names in a file can be incomplete or ambiguous; review them in Arusaama rather than assuming that the import independently verifies who said what or when.
Import and review
- Obtain the text export through an authorized method and keep a copy of the original.
- Open Device texts in Arusaama and choose Select text file.
- Select the exported text file.
- If the format is not recognized, the app explains that it can still try to import the file. Choose Continue only if you want to try, or Cancel to choose a different file.
- Review the prepared material, dates, people, and any warnings before further processing.
Choosing Continue does not guarantee that an unsupported format can be interpreted correctly. If preparation is unclear, contact support@arusaama.com with the file type and a description of the problem. Do not email a private conversation as an initial troubleshooting step.
Platform and permission limits
File import is different from directly reading a device’s message history. Arusaama does not promise that another messaging app exposes an export or that the same extraction options exist on Android and iOS. You must first have a supported file available through a method permitted by the platform and your circumstances.
An export can contain highly sensitive information about other people. Access to a conversation is not automatically authority to upload, analyze, or share it. Review the applicable notice and permissions before processing, and see responsible use.
